I've been doing edgics for a while now... Maybe now is the time that I tackle the big one, the series that edgic was invented to deal with: Survivor!

So yeah, after Season 22 sucked massively I wasn't even sure I wanted to see this season. But then I decided to watch it...and it's okay, I guess. Much better than 22 at least. Anyway, let's see what we've got here.

Episode 10 updated!

The Winner:

Coach: Cochran and Jim are both edgically eliminated now. Coach wins, period. See ya next season.

Just a quick question or two, if you don't mind. What does most of the acronyms mean? UTR and INV I get (under the radar and invisible respectively) But OTTM MORM MORP and the numbers.. I don't get.

Reply Vilecheese, October 5th, 2011, 3:46 pm

@qazox: OTT = Over The Top
MOR = Middle Of Road
CP = Complex Personality
P, N, M = Tones: Positive, Negative, Mixed.
1-5 = Visibility. 1 for barely in the episode, 5 for the star of the episode.

Reply qazox, October 5th, 2011, 4:12 pm

@Vilecheese: Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Reply Vilecheese, October 5th, 2011, 5:24 pm

@qazox: No problem. :)

Reply Slicer37, October 6th, 2011, 5:57 pm

"Edna: CPN."

Reply Vilecheese, October 6th, 2011, 7:44 pm

@Slicer37: Yes, it was really odd. Loads of negative SPV and bad gameplay, but complex and aware of the situation.

Reply Slicer37 (Guest), October 13th, 2011, 6:10 pm

Hey, at least it's a blindside.

Oh, and Christine's returning.

Reply Vilecheese, October 13th, 2011, 8:37 pm

@Slicer37: Blindsides are better when they actually blindside the audience.

Jim could easily end up CPN overall. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Christine's long as both tribes keep up the female slaughtering. If Savaii boots out Ozzy though, she's not returning.

Reply Slicer37 (Guest), October 14th, 2011, 7:42 pm

Milkayla had a line.

I think Dawn was CP in episode 4.

Reply Vilecheese, October 14th, 2011, 8:10 pm

@Slicer37: Yeah, I forgot about her presence at RI. She'll be UTR1 when I update Ep 6.

Dawn being CPP in episode 4 seems to be practically unanimous by edgicers...but I don't get it. All I saw was an "I'm old, I've got to prove myself to the tribe" story that lasted one episode. Then winning the challenge and a confessional which was basically just "YAY!!!" And she said stuff about Ozzy.

Reply Guest, October 15th, 2011, 9:30 am

Dawn was CPP for overcoming obstcales, proving that she is just as good as the Ozzy brigade, and winning the challenge for her team.

Reply Vilecheese, October 15th, 2011, 1:11 pm

@Guest: How is any of that complex? Granted, those are great reasons why she should be positive, but nothing there suggests a complex personality.

Reply Slicer37, October 15th, 2011, 1:20 pm

@Vilecheese: Underdog "N" type storyline.

Reply Vilecheese, October 15th, 2011, 11:13 pm

@Slicer37: You mean Norman? He was about breaking out of his shell; he went through character development. Dawn just wanted to prove herself.

Reply qazox, October 27th, 2011, 10:29 am

Holy S#!T!!!
Ozzy either just made the stupidest move in Survivor History last night... or the most brilliant. Not gonna spoil it for anyone who didn't see it but I don't see his idea working.

Reply Coconut_Man, October 27th, 2011, 5:40 pm

wtf at Mikayla M overall? o_o

Reply Vilecheese, October 27th, 2011, 7:00 pm

@Coconut_Man: She was the P Brandon victim at the beginning, and became the N-ish outcast at the end. Mixed makes the most sense.

Reply qazox, November 3rd, 2011, 12:57 am

@qazox: It was brilliant! And i'm glad Cochrane finally started using his head.

Spoiler ALERT: Keith never saw it coming.

Reply Vilecheese, November 3rd, 2011, 1:25 pm

@qazox: Cochran <3. He makes the game interesting!

Reply Slicer37, November 3rd, 2011, 2:51 pm

BRANDON GOD<33333333333333333.

Everyone else sucks.

Reply Slicer37, November 3rd, 2011, 2:51 pm

Oh, and I think Keith and Jim were 2's.

Reply Vilecheese, November 3rd, 2011, 2:58 pm

@Slicer37: I still hate Brandon, and Sophie's only okay, but I agree with the rest.

Reply Slicer37, November 3rd, 2011, 4:18 pm

@Vilecheese: Brandon is the most unintentionally hilarious character ever. He's comedy gold. Don't get the hate.

Reply Vilecheese, November 3rd, 2011, 6:56 pm

@Slicer37: He's mentally unstable to the point where he shouldn't be on the island, and he's sort of helping Survivor turn into the Russell Hantz show. Basically, he's a classic example of why Survivor's going downhill.

And I personally find him annoying and not funny at all, but that's just opinion.

Reply Slicer37, November 3rd, 2011, 8:28 pm

@Vilecheese: I totally understand why you hate Brandon, but I find him fascinating. The main thing I hate about Brandon haters is sucks. You just know that if a GIRL was doing the same thing Brandon was to men, they would be going OMG SO FUNNY. But since it's a white male, he's creepy and perverted. Ew, Sucks is one of the most sexist websites I have ever been on.

And he is NOT a screen hog. He got an UTRP1 in the merge and your calling him a screen hog?

Oh well. At least we can agree that Rick is a UTR god, right? Did you know he applied 14 times to get on?

Reply cRaZyKiD9219 (Guest), November 3rd, 2011, 9:56 pm

Brandon isn't really on my Hate list at the moment Surprise Surprise

Cochran My goodness lol

Keith's a Dickhead so fuck him.

Reply Vilecheese, November 3rd, 2011, 9:59 pm

@Slicer37: I agree, Sucks is so sexist that it isn't even funny. BTW I would hate him if he was a girl. -.-

I never called him a screenhog, when did I say that? He was a screenhog early on though...and to be fair I found Brandon this episode to be actually tolerable. O.o I hated him in the previous 7 though.

Reply Vilecheese, November 3rd, 2011, 10:00 pm

@cRaZyKiD9219: Pretty much my exact opinions at the moment.

Reply Slicer37, November 3rd, 2011, 10:03 pm

@cRaZyKiD9219: Savaii is one of the worst tribes ever. Its a bunch of self entitled whiny dicks who think there still in high school.

And Dawn... Holly called, she wants her character back.

Reply cRaZyKiD9219 (Guest), November 4th, 2011, 9:05 am

@Slicer37 Holly had some Complexity though, Dawn is Just a Mormon who has oficially gone off course.

Reply bennyboy, November 7th, 2011, 10:34 pm

Coach ain't winning, not in a million years. No one in their right mind would vote for The Dragon Slayer to win Survivor.

And just because Dawn isn't strategising 24/7, doesn't mean she's not CP. Strategy =/= CP, an insight into their character = CP. We've gotten to know Dawn more than most of the strategybots like Cochran and Jim on this season.

Reply Slicer37, November 8th, 2011, 6:16 am

@bennyboy: So, despite his great edit and story, you think Coach will not win because of the fact that he called himself the dragon slayer 2 years ago. Sure. Just because you don't like him does't mean he won't win.

And Dawn has had no strategy whatsoever. If she were to win, the editors would have told us her strategy.

Coach is the only possible contender.

Reply qazox, November 9th, 2011, 11:24 pm

No suprises tonight as to who went to Redemption (Ozzy and Jim). Ozzy's plan on redemption won't work. He's got the two of the 3 guys closest to him in strength and endurance there...

Reply Vilecheese, November 10th, 2011, 1:30 pm

@bennyboy: Yeah, sorry benny, but Slicer's right. Coach's game has improved a hundredfold from his previous attempts, and I don't see why people wouldn't acknowledge this and give him their votes at the finals.

And winners need both insight and strategy. Dawn only has insight.

Reply Slicer37, November 10th, 2011, 11:34 pm

Heh, just caught the easter egg.

Reply qazox, November 17th, 2011, 1:03 pm

What a un-twisty twist (double Elimination..seriously? it doesn't suprise anyone anymore...)

But.. ALBERT AND SOPHIE!!!! You stupid twits!!! Could have gotten rid of Edna, who's the worst player (Rick's been INV since day one and He has a better chance to win than Edna) then at the 2nd immunity, thrown the challenge to either Dawn or Whitney and blindsided Coach (I know he has the idol, but he wouldn't suspected it at the 2nd tribal); or gotten rid of Brandon (which will happen next episode anyway). You'd still have a 4-3 advantage even if Cochrane flipped back to Savaii; and then you could return to pick off Savaii one-by-one; possibly leaving you with a 4-on-1 v. Ozzy when he comes back.

Reply qazox, November 17th, 2011, 1:07 pm

Only people left that had a chance to win besides Coach were Albert and Sophie.. and they blew it bigtime tonight.

Only way Coach loses now is if he loses immunity at the Final 4; and there's Ozzy, Albert and Sophie there with him. And that's not going to happen.

Final four: Coach, Edna, Rick and Ozzy.

Reply Vilecheese, November 17th, 2011, 1:16 pm

@qazox: I dunno why they didn't flip...maybe they thought it would have a better chance of working at the F7 when Cochran's scrambling?

Reply Slicer37, November 18th, 2011, 5:32 pm

What would Ozzy be overall?

Reply Vilecheese, November 18th, 2011, 5:34 pm

@Slicer37: Most likely MORM.

Reply qazox, November 22nd, 2011, 1:37 am

@Vilecheese: Maybe... but only if they could convince INV Rick to join them. Edna's way too far up Coach's ass to leave and unless Brandon channels his uncle he's too unpredictable to try to bring him in.

As for Ozzy: MORM seems right.

Reply Slicer37, November 22nd, 2011, 8:31 am

@qazox: Because getting Rick to flip worked the last time for Albert&Sophie, right?

BTW, Edna would be UTRM now, right?

Reply Vilecheese, November 22nd, 2011, 11:08 am

@Slicer37: Yeah.

Reply qazox, November 24th, 2011, 12:26 pm

@Slicer37: It didn't, but if they are to have any chance at getting rid of Coach, Rick's the easier one to flip than Edna.

Reply Slicer37, November 30th, 2011, 10:33 pm

Reply qazox, December 1st, 2011, 10:31 am

1000% offical now: Coach wins.

OMG! Rick can actually speak! 1st confessional i remember him ever having this season except maybe in Episode 1 or 2.

So just why do you think Albert dumped the laundry water onto the fire???

Reply Slicer37, December 10th, 2011, 3:57 pm

Reply Vilecheese, December 10th, 2011, 8:48 pm

@Slicer37: Lost all interest in the season :/

"And it's okay, I guess..." Spoke too soon. This season's even WORSE than RI.

Reply Slicer37, December 10th, 2011, 9:23 pm

@Vilecheese: No. Nothing on TV history not named Jersey Shore is worse than RI. Nothing.

Reply qazox, December 12th, 2011, 11:51 pm

I see just 3 ways Coach loses:

#1- A split vote at tribal and he goes out via the rock.

#2- He stupidly takes Ozzie with him to final 3. Ozzie does have his entire tribe on the jury (5 people) and Edna might be just pissed off enough at Coach to vote against him.

#3- Brandon snaps and kills him.

Reply cRaZyKiD9219 (Guest), December 15th, 2011, 1:40 am

Can you promise that if Sophie wins you'll complete the edgic?

Reply Vilecheese, December 15th, 2011, 12:20 pm

@cRaZyKiD9219: I haven't even watched the episodes past 10, so no promises for sure.

Reply qazox, December 16th, 2011, 1:00 am

What's the 1st rule of Survivor? (besides don't trust anyone ever?):

DON'T GIVE UP IMMUNITY for any reason!

Brandon--- you're now offically one of the top 5 stupidest players ever...

Reply qazox, December 16th, 2011, 1:02 am

@cRaZyKiD9219: Only way Sophie wins is if Coach isn't involved in the final 3. Which right now is going to be damn near impossible to pull off.

Reply qazox, December 18th, 2011, 9:44 pm

Damn.. talk about an upset...

Wtg Sophie!

Reply Slicer37, December 18th, 2011, 9:48 pm

@qazox: I just choose to pretend that this is a different Coach than the one in Tocantins and HvsV, so yeah.

Reply qazox, December 18th, 2011, 11:38 pm

Thinking at Survivor 25 they bring back Jim.

Reply Vilecheese, December 18th, 2011, 11:41 pm

@qazox: I'm pretty sure Jeff confirmed he wanted Cochran back.

Reply qazox, December 19th, 2011, 12:48 am

*cough cough*

Reply Slicer37, March 8th, 2012, 9:22 pm

@bennyboy: Yes, yes, yes, we all make our edgic mistakes, I fess up. Vile got this one wrong. Besides, if this was SFC, Sophie would be a much better contender. It's the sexist Survivor editors fucking everything up.

But if you want to see REAL inaccuracy, go look at Sucks edgic for this season. L-O-L.

Reply bennyboy, March 9th, 2012, 2:34 am

@Slicer37: The sad thing is, if Sophie was made the star of South Pacific, it would probably be one of the most boring seasons ever. It's not about the editors "sexism" (or producers - remember, the editors only put together the story that Jeff Probst + Mark Burnett want), it's about the fact that Sophie really didn't have the personality or the ability to carry the season - it had to be the Coach/Ozzy/Brandon/Cochran show, otherwise it would lose tonnes of viewers (don't get me wrong, I love Sophie, she's one of my favourite winners).

Either way, Edgic winner-pick logic isn't really good at picking winners. There was a brief run in Sucks Edgic where apparently, Marcus, Ken, Matty, Stephen, and Mick were apparently 100% guaranteed to win their respective seasons. Hell the only real reason Sandra and Fabio were correct on the Sucks edgic was because those two seasons were probably the most spoiled in the history of the show. That gives Edgic...what, 7/14 accuracy rate? Tom/Aras/Yul/Earl/Todd/Parvati/Rob? They're all blaringly similar in their win types and edits, which says a lot about Edgic and how useful it is.

Reply Vilecheese, March 9th, 2012, 12:08 pm

@bennyboy: Edgic is definitely not foolproof, that's for sure.
